Minimum requirementsÂ
- Grade 12 Certificate or NQF 4
- Basic math and computer skills
- Familiarity with cash desk equipment, such as point-of-sale (POS) machines, scanners, cash drawers
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service experience desirable
- Ability to handle a high volume of transactions
- Polite and courteous
Responsibility Skills and Duties
- Greeting customers
- Â Collecting payments in cash or credit
- Issuing receipts, refunds or exchanges
- Operating cash desk equipment such as scanners, scales, cash registers and other devices
- Maintaining clean and tidy checkout areas
- Balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of a work shift
- Managing a high volume of transactions on a daily basis
